In Cork, a Draft Planning Scheme has been published for the Monard Strategic Development Zone, which is the first such zone that has been designated outside of the Greater Dublin Area. It is intended that the Planning Scheme will facilitate the development of a new town at Monard, just outside Cork City, which will ultimately house a population of approximately 12,500 people. Submissions may be made on the Draft Scheme until the 31st of July.
