An Bord Pleanála has granted planning permission to Marina Quarter Ltd. for 1,002 no. apartments with amenity, commercial and community facilities, including the provision of retail units, Montessori school, creche, medical centre, bar, café and venue/performance area on the site of the former Marquee concert venue and Ford distribution site in the South Docklands. The scheme ranges in height from 4 to 14 storeys and is the largest Strategic Housing Development approved in Cork.
