The development located in Cork City centre, bounded on Clontarf Street, Deane Street, and Oliver Plunkett Street Lower, was granted planning permission this week for a 15-storey office building. McCutcheon Halley acted as planning consultants on behalf of their client Tower Development Group, working alongside a multidisciplinary team consisting of; Reddy Architecture, AECOM, ARUP, Pederson Focus and EDC Engineering Design Consultants.

In their decision, An Bord Pleanála noted that the development ‘would make a positive contribution to the urban character and skyline of the area’. The location of the Prism is strategically situated on the doorstep to Cork’s main public transport facilities which will encourage a shift towards increased use of sustainable transport options. The development will act as a catalyst to regenerate the long term underutilisation of the site and increase employment opportunities for Cork City.
