Profile
Emer is a Senior Environmental and Planning Consultant and is based in our Cork office. She has researched and prepared submissions to national strategic plans and guidelines (including the Offshore Renewable Energy Development Action Plan), County and City Development Plans and Local Area Plans.
Emer works with multi-disciplinary teams providing a range of ecological services including habitat and species surveys, ecological impact assessment, advice on biodiversity mitigation, offsetting and enhancement, and management planning for biodiversity. She has extensive experience in digital mapping of habitat surveys and works with both QGIS and ARCGIS.
She has extensive experience in the preparation of Appropriate Assessments and maintains a watchful eye on both European and Irish case law to ensure clients are provided with the best possible advice.
Emer’s track record includes effective engagement with relevant stakeholders including; government departments, planning authorities, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Inland Fisheries Ireland, and other regulatory bodies to assist with securing development consents.
Emer holds a Master’s in Planning and Sustainable Development and a BSc in Earth Science and Ecology from university College Cork. She has a Higher Diploma in Geographical Information Systems and is a member of both the Irish Planning Institute and the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.
