Irish Distillers Limited (IDL) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. They produce the world’s largest selling Irish Whiskey, Jameson, from their distillery in Midleton, as well as other spirits such as Paddy, Powers Gold Label and Midleton Very Rare Irish Whiskey. Global growth in the demand for Irish Whiskey means that IDL is seeking to increase its output significantly over the next 10 to 12 years.

McCutcheon Halley has provided planning consultancy services to IDL to enable them to maintain current industrial production and prepare for future expansion of the Midleton Distillery’s output.

These services have included:

Submission of a planning application and associated Environmental Impact Assessment for the development of a satellite warehousing facility, providing for 40 warehouses, at Ballynona North, Dungourney. The proposal was granted planning permission by Cork County Council in May 2011.

• The development of a planning application and associated Environmental Impact Assessment to facilitate an almost doubling of output capacity at Midleton Distillery.
